Study Advisors are faculty members of the Department, who provide students of the Department, without additional remuneration, orientation, advising and support services with emphasis on study and attendance issues, guiding and supporting them in their study programs to meet the requirements of their studies at the University. Students, especially first year students, are encouraged to have frequent meetings with the Counsellors to better organize their study programme and solve related problems in order to make their transition from secondary to higher education more effective. Students are ultimately responsible for their choices in matters of study. Particular attention shall be paid to the appropriate counselling and support for students with disabilities and special educational needs or specific learning difficulties who may have particular circumstances during their studies.
Appointment of a Study Adviser
The Assembly of the Department of Nursing of the University of Peloponnese assigns the duties of a Study Advisor to the faculty members of the Department in the first quarter of each academic year for all first-year students. The number of students is divided equally among the faculty members. The Student Advisor remains the same until the completion of the student's studies. In the event of the absence of the Study Adviser for a long period of time (e.g. sabbatical leave, health problem, retirement), the Assembly shall assign the students of that Adviser to another faculty member. With regard to the admission of students with special conditions or special categories who are later enrolled in the Departments, the procedure shall be repeated after the completion of such enrolment.
