The Curriculum of the Department of Nursing is developed in eight (8) semesters and consists of thirty-eight (38) compulsory and nine (9) elective/optional compulsory courses. Of the nine (9) elective/optional required courses, seven (7) must be selected (excluding the Practicum course, which if selected is included in the appendix as an additional course.

The minimum duration of study for the degree is eight (8) semesters or four (4) years.

The minimum number of teaching and examination weeks per year is 32 (26 for teaching and 6 for examinations).

Note: There are also 4 additional (optional) weeks for teaching and 3 for examinations.

The total workload of students throughout the course is at least 6,400 hours (teaching and personal effort).

The required number of credits (ECTS) for the degree is 240 ECTS, which are equally distributed over the 8 semesters, i.e. 30 per semester.  One (1) credit (ECTS) corresponds to approximately 25-30 hours of work (teaching programme and personal effort).

Students, in order to receive the degree, must attend during eight (8) semesters:

  • Thirty-eight (38) compulsory courses with a total of 189 credits (189 ECTS) and 

  • Seven (7) of nine (9) elective/optional required courses offered for a total of fifty-one (51) credit hours (51ECTS).
