WHAT IS THE ERASMUS+ PROGRAMME
The Erasmus+ programme takes its name from the recognition of the Erasmus programme in the context of previous European programmes for higher education. The European Commission's programme for education, training, youth and sport aims to promote skills, employability and the modernization of education, training and youth systems in all areas of Lifelong Learning. Erasmus+ enables students enrolled in a higher education institution at all levels of study (undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral) to move to study at a partner institution abroad with full recognition for the duration of their studies. There is also the possibility to carry out an Internship in a host institution abroad with full recognition for the duration of their project (information: erasmus.uop.gr)
THE ERASMUS+ PROCESS IN THE DEPARTMENT OF NURSING
Student mobility in the Department of Nursing is carried out through Erasmus+ and is centrally regulated by the Erasmus+ institutional regulation (PAPEL). The Department of Nursing oversees the operation of Erasmus+ in the department through an academic coordinator and an Erasmus+ committee, appointed by the General Assembly. The academic coordinator works with the Erasmus+ office of the PAPEL as well as with the host institutions and also ensures that new agreements are concluded that reflect the research and artistic interests of the department. In addition, the committee organizes information meetings to promote the programme and evaluates once a semester the Erasmus+ scholarship applications of students in the department, as well as the applications of incoming Erasmus+ students. On an individual level, the committee members guide students on any academic issue related to mobility, from the choice of institution to the choice of courses abroad. In addition, the committee members are responsible for the recognition of courses in the department concerned. Finally, the members of the Committee also oversee the smooth integration of incoming Erasmus+ students into the department and provide them with advice. Information material on the contracting institutions for outgoing students is available on the Erasmus+ UOP and on the department's website.
